An exceptional manual toothbrush with vibration function. Everything important & what you should consider before buying, read here.

You don’t want to get an electric toothbrush, or don’t know if “electric” brushing appeals to you?

Then try the Dr. Best Vibration – an ordinary manual toothbrush with an added vibration feature for a small price.

Thanks to the vibration, the toothbrush provides thoroughly groomed teeth. Sei has of course the well-known Dr.Best toothbrush head for gentle brushing.

  • Lightweight and ergonomic.
  • 20,000 vibrations per minute.
  • Battery lasts 3 months – until the bristles are worn out.

I have tested the Dr. Best vibration for you. Here you can find out all the pros and cons and whether the purchase is worth it for you.

If you also want to know more about electric toothbrushes, then take a look at our numerous tests and comparisons of sonic toothbrushes, ultrasonic toothbrushes and entry-level models under 50 euros.

First impression: like a manual toothbrush plus vibration

The Dr. Best Vibration is only slightly thicker than ordinary manual toothbrushes – only the power button reveals what’s behind it.

In fact, inside there is a battery and a motor that makes the toothbrush vibrate. This is to support the daily tooth cleaning.

Even with the battery installed, I find that the toothbrush feels good in the hand.

Dr. Best Vibration more than just manual toothbrush

The Dr. Best Vibration Atemfrisch isn’t quite as sleek as an ordinary toothbrush, but it does come with a useful vibration function.

The toothbrush neck is here just like all toothbrushes of the brand Dr. Best very flexible. This allows you to reduce the pressure on the teeth and gums.

This way you brush your teeth more gently and reduce the risk of periodontitis and bleeding gums.

I also like that the battery lasts a whole 3 months. This saves you the hassle of replacing or recharging. And after 3 months, you should replace the toothbrush anyway.

Mix of electric and manual toothbrush

The Dr. Best toothbrush manages 20,000 vibrations per minute, putting it at about the lower end of common electric toothbrushes

A mix of manual toothbrush and electric toothbrush like the Sonicare Protective Clean (pictured here)

But electric toothbrushes are also often heavier, thicker and much more expensive.

When switching on, however, the whole toothbrush vibrates, which was unusual for me at first. I usually clean with an electric toothbrush, where only the bristles vibrate.

In addition to the normal bristles, the Dr. Best vibration also has long, thinner bristles (in orange color), so you can clean the interdental spaces more effectively.

Reliable cleaning and clean teeth

Compared to brushing with regular manual toothbrushes, my teeth felt cleaner and smoother.

test dr. best vibration atemfirsch

In contrast to an ordinary manual toothbrush, the „Atemfrisch“ cleans much more thoroughly.

The brushing itself is more pleasant and the vibrations provide a soothing massage.

I also felt the bristles for interdental cleaning clearly – partly tickling – between the teeth. In fact, the vibration helps to scrub the teeth a little more.

I also like that the toothpaste foams up properly. This will clean your interdental spaces namely more thoroughly.

Small point of criticism: the Dr. Best vibration you get only with bristles of the strength “medium”. So if you have very sensitive teeth, I’d rather recommend a toothbrush designed for sensitive teeth, such as the ProtectiveClean 5100.

Practical tongue cleaning

On the back of the brush head there is a profile for tongue cleaning.

When you clean your tongue with the Dr. Best vibration in the on mode, it can quickly turn into a ticklish affair

If that’s too uncomfortable for you, you can of course clean your tongue while it’s turned off.

tongue cleaning

It is important not to forget your tongue when brushing your teeth. Often, unpleasant plaque is the reason for bad breath and poor oral hygiene in general.

Then tongue cleaning is comparable to other toothbrushes that have such a rubber coating.

The profile cleans the tongue both with and without vibration noticeably and above all visibly – unsightly coatings scrape off so easily.

Battery performance and disposal

The battery life is about 3 months, then you need to buy a new toothbrush. This is because you cannot replace the battery

But that’s no reason to worry: you should replace your toothbrush every 3 months anyway for hygiene and cleaning reasons. Thus, the service life here is not a problem.

Toothbrush with vibration or manual toothbrush

After 3 months, you should replace both regular manual toothbrushes and Dr. Best Vibration Atemfrisch. This is not only more hygienic, but also ensures healthier teeth.

In comparison, electric toothbrushes last for several years, but again, you will need to buy new attachments regularly.

Only the disposal may cause you problems.

Due to the integrated and non-removable battery, you can not simply dispose of the toothbrush in household waste. Therefore, it is better to give it to a recycling depot or, if possible, to a larger shopping center.

Available in 3 variants

In addition to the “Atemfrisch” variant tested here, Dr. Best offers a total of 3 toothbrushes with vibration:

The Vibration Polimed, however, lacks the special interdental bristles and the tongue cleaner.

The multi expert also does not have a tongue cleaner.

The biggest difference in the models is the brush head. Here you can decide for yourself which variant you like best.

My favorite is still the vibration breath fresh.

Is the Dr. Best Vibration suitable for you?

The toothbrush can complement tooth brushing with the built-in vibration similar to a fully electric toothbrush, but of course it does not come close to the models from Oral-B, Philips Sonicare, Panasonic, Elmex, or other manufacturers.

sonicare diamondclean

Of course, an electric toothbrush like the Sonicare Diamond Clean cleans even more thoroughly. Therefore, the Dr. Best Vibration is a suitable transition if you are still brushing with a manual toothbrush

You also have to do without numerous features here (e.g. pressure control, teeth whitening, timer function), which are nowadays the norm with many suppliers of electric toothbrushes.

With the right brushing technique, you still clean thoroughly and clean.

I consider the Dr. Best Vibration Atemfrisch ideal when:

  • You simple brushing your teeth is too monotonous and you want to try something new.
  • You want to make your daily dental hygiene even more thorough.
  • You want to buy an electric toothbrush, but are unsure whether you like the “electric” brushing.

Tip: Especially for children, the toothbrush can make brushing a little more interesting through the vibrations and thus promote the motivation to brush their teeth properly. Pay attention here, however, to the brush head size.

Conclusion: not comparable to an electric toothbrush

I find the Dr. Best Vibration a very successful manual toothbrush, with which you can thoroughly care for your teeth

getting white teeth

As with electric toothbrushes, as well as the differences between sonic and ultrasonic toothbrushes, you’ll need to determine the pros and cons for your individual needs.

  • The toothbrush can help you compensate for poor brushing technique
  • This makes it well suited as an inexpensive alternative to the usual manual toothbrush.
  • Recommended if you want to try the difference between an electric toothbrush and a manual toothbrush without having to choose an expensive model right away.

Personally, I’ve been using electric toothbrushes for years, so the difference in cleaning results and overall performance is very noticeable to me.

If you are willing to pay a little more for an electric toothbrush, I am convinced that you can get much better oral hygiene.
