Caripro Ultrasonic Toothbrush

Best Ultrasonic ToothbrushAs a dentist, I follow a strict routine and try out new oral products often. But electric toothbrush is something I am not very comfortable with. Let me tell you why, it feels unnatural…just like the very first time I used a facial cleansing brush. I have used electric toothbrush like Foreo ISSA in the past, but got rid of it after 3 months. The silicone brush head was somehow not cleaning my teeth properly.

So as the time is passing and the more I am using cariPRO, the more I am loving it. I have found out that it actually works better than a normal toothbrush.

The 5 modes may sound like “too much”, but as soon as you try these features you will understand the difference it makes.

Where to find cariPRO ultrasonic Electric toothbrush:

You can find it online here. The toothbrush sets are found online here, Electric Toothbrush Heads are found here.

For more information, check out Smile Brilliant FAQ.

I am using it for almost a month now, twice a day and it seems like it’s working just like my normal toothbrush BUT better.

Best Ultrasonic Toothbrush Buyer’s Guide

Best Ultrasonic Toothbrush Review

According to Electric Toothbrush, sonic brushes can produce sound waves, vibrating water molecules in your mouth for a more effective clean. To gauge your brush’s power, check how many brush strokes a minute the toothbrush offers compared with the most powerful one on the market. An ultrasonic toothbrush should produce 30,000 to 40,000 brush strokes a minute. In comparison, normal electric toothbrushes only offer 3,000 to 7,500 brushstrokes a minute.

Other features to look out for include a built-in two minute timer to tell you when your session is up, a UV sanitizer that kills any bacteria which may grow on your brush head when it is not in use, and a pressure sensor to prevent you from brushing too hard. In addition, when choosing a sonic toothbrush you should ask yourself who it’s for. For children, a smaller version is preferable, and some brushes have been designed especially for kids.

So now you know the importance of good oral hygiene, and you want an electric toothbrush. But with so many different options, how do you know what you’re looking for?

The first thing to consider is the type of motion you want.

Oscillating

With oscillating toothbrushes, the top (which is usually circular) oscillates back and forth, spinning a quarter-turn in one direction, then a quarter-turn back, or sometimes completing a full circular motion in one direction.

Some of the latest models, such as Braun’s electric toothbrushes (the Oral-B collection), have developed a ‘3-D’ approach which combines oscillating, rotating, and pulsating. This model helps you concentrate on one tooth at a time, eliminating plaque from all edges of your mouth and reaching hard to get parts.

Sonic

In the wonderful world of electric toothbrushes, “sonic” is a fancy way of stating that the top vibrates very, extremely fast – around 30,000 brushes every minute. Compare this to about 7500 rotations every minute with a typical oscillating toothbrush.

The brush head, which is generally a similar form to a manual toothbrush, vibrates at brilliant broadband as the bristles scrub your teeth. But such a higher rate also agitates the liquid (saliva and toothpaste) in the mouth area, which produces a non-contact-cleaning-effect. The Philips Sonicare range is, as the name suggests, sonic toothbrushes.

Once you’ve chosen the type you like, they are some features to consider.

High quality rechargeable battery

A deceased toothbrush is a useless toothbrush, as the great telling runs. That’s why it’s essential to be sure you buy a power toothbrush with a good battery, mainly if you travel a great deal.

Most good quality toothbrushes can last fourteen days per charge, plus some even state to continue per month. If you treat your electric toothbrush well and follow the instructions, an excellent electric battery can live between 3 and five years!

Two-minute timer

The American Teeth Association (ADA) recommends 2 minutes of brushing twice per day. Brushing for less than 2 minutes isn’t effective at eliminating plaque, while over-brushing can irritate your gums and, over time, damage your teeth.

While of course, it’s flawlessly possible to just time yourself…how many of us do? A timer helps you get it just right, so it’s an excellent feature to have.

While most toothbrushes now offer this as a standard feature and alert you by vibrating or turning on a little light, some shut off automatically.

30 second timer

This splits the two-minute brushing timer into four 30-second intervals so that you know when it’s time to move to another quadrant of your mouth.

Most 30 second timers, also called quad-pacers, will either pause for a second or produce a short series of pulses to let you know when it’s time to move on.

Pressure sensor

Just like brushing for too long, brushing too hard can irritate gums and cause soreness or bleeding, so a pressure sensor – which alerts you with a buzz, pause or light depending on the model – will let you know when you’re overdoing it.

Brush head shape and size

This is mostly up to your taste but also depends on your requirements. If you use braces or other orthodontic home appliances, you need to pay particular attention to the shape of the brush mind and make sure it can reach those frustrating little areas where food will get stuck.

Tech features

Some people love them. Some people absolutely cannot stand them. If you’d like all the latest in oral tech, you can purchase a power toothbrush that is included with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi and attaches to a mobile application to let you know if you’re carrying it outright. Futuristic stuff, right?

Methodology

With a wide variety of brands and models, finding the right electric toothbrush is not a simple task. We explored dozens of different alternatives by looking through specialist websites, evaluating hundreds of rankings and responses, and paying particular focus on the judgment of health care professionals.

We then created a robust credit scoring system predicated on size from 0-100. Our strategy is dependant on a weighted rating of some factors including:

  • Affordability
  • Number and type of features
  • Usability
  • Overall quality and design

Then we took an average of those scores for a final metascore and built our ranking from there.

Best Technology for Clean Healthy Teeth

The Ultima was the first toothbrush to employ ultrasonic technology and it was patented in the year 1992 in the USA.

It received approval for regular use at home by the FDA (Food and Drug Association) the same year and as per regulations, any electric toothbrush must operate at 1.6 MHz frequency or 192,000,000 strokes each minute in order to classified as an ultrasonic toothbrush.

Nowadays, there are some toothbrushes that only provide ultrasonic motion while others offer extra sonic vibrations ranging between 9,000 to 4,000 strokes per minute.

Are Ultrasonic Toothbrushes Safe?

Ultrasound toothbrushes are usually safe to use due to the fact that outstanding quality electric toothbrushes come with very soft bristles that cannot damage the interior of the mouth.

However, for the sake of safety, you should maintain care when brushing, especially above and below the gumline since these portions are very sensitive. Moreover, you should not make any movements with the brush but just hold it in your mouth and let the product do all the work.

Is Ultrasonic Toothbrush Better Than Sonic?

Our verdict is that you’re better off with a much less snazzy-sounding but tried-and-tested “sonic toothbrush” with the brush heads of most models today rapidly oscillating back-and-forth more than 30,000 times per minute (using the word “sonic” to describe a modern electric toothbrush is moot since an electric toothbrush with a paltry 1,200 strokes per minute is already “sonic”, i.e. within the frequency of human hearing which begins at 20Hz).

Frequently asked questions about ultrasonic toothbrushes

Ultrasonic toothbrushes are becoming increasingly popular as people seek out more effective ways to keep their teeth clean and their mouths healthy. But as with any new technology, there are bound to be questions and concerns. Here are some frequently asked questions about ultrasonic toothbrushes that can help shed some light on this innovative dental tool.

One common question is: how do ultrasonic toothbrushes work? These toothbrushes use high-frequency vibrations to create tiny bubbles in the water or toothpaste that surrounds the bristles. These bubbles help to dislodge plaque and bacteria from teeth and gums, while the vibrations themselves can also help to remove debris from hard-to-reach areas.

Another question that often arises is: are ultrasonic toothbrushes safe for use on dental work like fillings or crowns? The answer is generally yes, as long as the dental work is in good condition and firmly in place. However, if the dental work is loose or damaged, using an ultrasonic toothbrush could cause it to become dislodged or damaged further.

Finally, some people may wonder if ultrasonic toothbrushes are worth the cost. While they can be more expensive than traditional toothbrushes, ultrasonic toothbrushes offer a number of benefits, including superior cleaning power and improved gum health. They can also be more gentle on the teeth and gums, which can be particularly important for those with sensitive teeth or gums.

Overall, there are a lot of different factors to consider when choosing an ultrasonic toothbrush. Hopefully, these answers to some common questions have helped shed some light on this innovative dental tool and its potential benefits for your oral health.
